The Rustic Barn is a tribute to one womanβs love of animals, the countryside and farming. πππ©βπΎ
Talented Daisy launched The Rustic Barn back in 2022 on the back of her determination to learn screen printing, sublimation printing techniques and embroidery - all to express her passion for farm animals and the country way of life.
βIt was something I always wanted to do. I have always wanted to create my own dreams,β she says.
Daisy makes most things that you can buy on her stall, including chopping boards, slates and coasters. She machine embroiders country designs on hoodies and all the cards are made by Daisy and her mum Dotty who you will also find helping to manage the stall on week days.
Daisy will take on custom design commissions too.
The Rustic Barn also sells at events and agricultural shows and can be found on Etsy.
And this is very much a hobby turned supplementary job for Daisy who also works full-time on dairy farms as a national milk recorder.
She also has her own flock of sheep at home - 180 ewes and 200 lambs.
βIβm very fond of pedigree Suffolks. Apart from The Rustic Barn, they are my pride and joy,β she says.
Her day job involves travelling to farms to regularly measure, sample and record the volume and quality of milk produced by individual dairy cows. The data is used to help farmers track herd health, test for diseases, pregnant cattle and more.
Daisy always wanted to work with animals. She thought she would one day become a vet, but the first day of work experience put her off when a dog had to be put down.
βI decided then that it was not for me,β she says.
βIt was always my dream to be around animals and now that dream has come true. My partner and I also have 20 pet sheep. Mine are Suffolks while my partner has Charollais, Texels and Beltexes. We have two pet dogs too - Nelly a Collie, who is a good sheepdog, and Labrador Poppy.β
The Rustic Barn brings a lot of joy to people. We hope you love it too.
