👨‍🍳 WE’RE HIRING – KITCHEN MANAGER 👩‍🍳

The Flying Monk is looking for a brilliant Kitchen Manager to join our team in Hullavington.

We’re after someone who can take ownership of the kitchen, lead the team, keep standards high and help us continue building something we’re really proud of.

You’ll be responsible for:
🍳 Leading the day-to-day kitchen operation
👥 Managing, supporting and developing the kitchen team
🥓 Maintaining great food quality and consistency
🧼 Keeping on top of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
📦 Stock control, ordering and reducing waste
💡 Bringing ideas, energy and a bit of personality to the kitchen

We’re looking for someone who is experienced, organised, reliable and calm under pressure – but most importantly, someone who genuinely cares about good food and creating a great place to work.

☕ ROASTED RIGHT HERE.

We might not be brewing b**r on site anymore… but the smell of something very good being made hasn’t gone anywhere.

Our friends at Colours Coffee colourscoffeeco have taken up residence, roasting the coffee we serve right here on site at The Flying Monk. From roaster to cup without travelling halfway around the country — which is exactly how we like it.

So when you’re sat here with a coffee in hand, you’re drinking something that was roasted just a few steps away. Pretty special, really. 💙☕

And if you haven’t made it over this Bank Holiday weekend, today is your last chance to see us before our little break!

We’ll be back open from 10am Wednesday.

🚨 GREAT NEWS: THE ROAD IS OPEN. THE BACON IS SIZZLING. 🚨

A little bit of excellent Bank Holiday news from The Flying Monk…

The recent road closure has now been lifted!
So there are no restrictions getting to us — no diversions, no mysterious country-lane expedition, and no need to pack emergency rations for the journey. Although, judging by these photos, arriving hungry is definitely encouraged 👀

It’s Bank Holiday Weekend, which means we’ll be serving up breakfasts, brunches, coffee, cake and all the good stuff Saturday & Sunday.

We will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday. It’s only our first week and we’re giving the team a very well-earned breather before we get stuck into week two on Wednesday 💪🏻

Thank you SO much to everyone who has visited, supported us, shared posts, told friends and generally made our first few days such a brilliant start.

Come and see us this weekend.

Well… Day One as the new owners of The Flying Monk: COMPLETE. 🎉☕

And what a first day it was.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came through the doors, bought something, wished us luck, had a nose around, brought friends, came back again, or generally helped make our first day such a brilliant one.

We went into the morning with a healthy mixture of excitement, nerves and “please, for the love of God, let everything work…” (it didn't) 😅

By the end of the day we were absolutely shattered — but genuinely blown away by the support.

It was busy, it was brilliant, we learned loads, and most importantly… The Flying Monk is officially flying. ✈️

There’ll be plenty more to come over the next few weeks as we settle in, tweak things and continue putting our own stamp on the place.

For now though, thank you. Seriously. 💙🩷

After almost 5 years, we’re saying goodbye to running the Café/Tap ❤️

But don’t worry, we’re not really going anywhere!

This weekend will be our last running the café, but it’ll still be opening as usual on Wednesday , just under new management.

The lovely Andrew will be taking over, and we’d love for you all to give him the same warm welcome and support you’ve given us over the years.

We just wanted to take a moment to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported us and helped us build such a wonderful community.

Over the years we’ve put our blood, sweat, tears & a lot of laughter into building this café, this place has been so much more than a job, it’s been a home, and we’ve made some incredible memories along the way.

From Oktoberfest and quiz nights to Hill Haze, live music, pizza nights, stand-up comedy and everything in between… it’s been one hell of a ride! ❤️

While we’re stepping away from the café, you’ll still see plenty of familiar faces around the yard as we continue working on other projects, so this definitely isn’t goodbye forever.

Thank you for the last 4 years. We’re incredibly grateful for every single one of you.

Here’s to the next chapter 🫶
