The long awaited appearance of that great yellow orb in the sky heralds the arrival of some lighter summerier (kinda) dishes here at The Walnut

First up, we’ve grilled langoustines with cafe de Paris butter. Langos are staple of BBQ season in my eyes served simply with loads of lemon juice. But, we didn’t do that. I decided upon the bistro hero that is Cafe de Paris butter. Spicy, herby and comforting all in one. No one knows its true origin story, but I do know it’s tasty.

Served with a finger bowl so you can get well stuck in. Swipe till the end to see my hostage like video with top tips on how to get the most out of your lango. Long story short, don’t forget to suck the head. All those gubbins are the best bits. Absolute Box Office

Replacing the cheese and potato pithier, we have a slightly lighter dish. Twice Baked Camembert soufflé, with tomato à la creme sauce & frizze endive

Each bake to bake of those soufflés makes it twice as delicious. Don’t worry though it’s not all cheese. There is a gratuitous amount butterd leeks to help you on your way to your 5 a day. All this sounds like it should be served with a health warning, but worry not, it’s deceptively light. And besides, it’s got two vegetables on it

Pan fried sea bass, crispy spuds, red pepper & tomato sauce & courgette salsa.

Yes, there has been a lot of tomatoes recently. I don’t know what to say, it’s tomato season baby. Besides they are delicious

Usual deal applies, any fish starter & the above dish for 29£ & if you fancy it youse can add a glass of wine on for a fiver. Let’s be honest why wouldn’t you at that price?!
