I genuinely think this might be one of my favourite Indians at the moment.

As many of you will know by now, I do love a good Indian and Spice Island is definitely a GOOD Indian. I don’t even know if you can call them underrated at this point as they are technically award-winning multiple times over… BUT I still really don’t think they get the recognition they deserve.

🍤 Prawn Cocktail – Classic prawns served with crisp salad and seafood sauce.

🔥 Mr Chicken 65 – Crispy fried chicken tossed with curry leaves, chilli, yoghurt and aromatic spices.

🌶️ Sweet Chilli Paneer Stir Fry – Paneer cheese stir-fried with peppers, onions and sweet chilli sauce.

🍽️ Mixed Starter – A delicious mix of chicken tikka, lamb tikka & sheek kebab served with salad & sauce.

🐟 Bombay Fish & Chips – Indian-spiced battered fish served with chips and Bombay-style flavours.

🧀 Malabar Paneer – Paneer cooked in a rich South Indian-style coconut curry with aromatic spices and curry leaves.

🍛 Butter Chicken – Tandoori chicken cooked in a creamy butter and tomato sauce with delicate spices.

🔥 Chicken Tikka Masala – Marinated chicken tikka cooked in a rich, creamy tomato masala sauce.

🥥 Chicken Korma – Mild and creamy curry cooked with coconut, cream and aromatic spices.

⭐ Review:

Now I know what you’re thinking… apart from the Bombay Fish & Chips (which by the way was incredible), I went for quite a few safe options here today. 😅

And well… you would be correct. I’ve tried many more exotic dishes with Spice Island up until this point, so this time I thought I’d try the classics… a few milder, creamier dishes and honestly I wasn’t disappointed.

The Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala in particular were stunning. So rich and flavourful, and it just goes to show Indian dishes don’t need to be covered in chilli to be absolutely delicious.
