The Foundry was originally a Victorian

iron foundry that produced cast metal items that went all over the

empire, from street lighting in New York to early torpedoes for the

British Navy and most things in between. We take inspiration from the

original foundry founder, William Henry Biggleston, and his company's

ingenuity, originality and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the stunning

building they left us. We have an extensive menu of traditional pub food and modern

favourites, plus a wide range of beers and ciders, and we regularly host

live music and stand up comedy.

A Canterbury Brewers and Distillers favourite is being bottled this week!

Our Blackcurrant & Honey Gin starts with our own grains to glass barley spirit, before being left to mature with tart blackcurrants and smith golden honey.

This results in a rich, deep and velvety flavour, full of dark fruit with honeyed sweetness, maintaining the flavour of a "proper gin".

Perfect with a Prosecco, or enjoy with a simple tonic, this is perfect for when the colder evenings arrive(....still waiting!)

Available online and of course on the bar at The Foundry as part of our ยฃ5 Gin and Tonic offer from Monday to Thursday.

There's only one time of year you can taste Kent's hop harvest quite like this ๐Ÿบ Sword's Point, the green hop b**r from The Foundry Brew Pub, is brewed with freshly harvested Kent hops at their brewery inside Canterbury's city walls. Created in collaboration with Canterbury Christ Church University, it uses hops straight from the harvest rather than dried, linking what's in your glass directly to the Kent countryside ๐ŸŒฟ Look out for it on the bar at The Foundry this October, with bottles following shortly after. Our 2026 Sword's Point Kent Green Hop B**r came out of the tank this week and (all being well) will be ready for next week.

The fresh hops were blessed by Dr Emma Pennington, Canon Missioner at Canterbury Cathedral before they were brewed along with delegates from CCCU

We love this time of year for all sorts of different reason but, to be blessed, metaphorically and actually, with these Kent Green Hops always feels so special. Stay tuned for the story of "Sword's Point"

An update from Jon, our Foundry Wh***ey journey has only just started, with countless ups and downs, numerous twists and turns, and many challenges and triumphs.

The protected geographical status of English Wh**ky will help us all in our pursuit of creating the best quality whiskies we can, for distilleries across the country.

The pride we hold for our local connections grows with every new idea, every new batch and every new Foundry Wh***ey. Cheers to that ๐Ÿฅƒ.

Delighted to have been awarded Travellers' Choice Award again for 2026.

Something that we are extremely proud of. It takes time and effort for people to send feed back, and even more now than ever in hospitality, it really counts!

Trip advisor reviews, Google reviews, shares to social media, checking in on Facebook, we are so thankful.

Keep sharing your stories and feedback, it helps us improve, it helps our sector grow and it's just a jolly nice thing to do.

Have a great Friday, we look forward to seeing lots of you this weekend for a busy Foundry Brew Pub welcome. (Roasts back in October)

Cheers! Jon, Jodie and the Team
