Everyone is helping to build an unmatched hospitality culture in our once sleepy little city. This is the community that truly makes Penticton magic.

Plot twist: Chef isn’t in the Elma kitchen this Sunday….

Instead, he’s popping up at for the final night of their Kitchen Takeover series, and he’s bringing a whole lineup of Turkish-inspired tapas with him.

Our signature bold flavours, shareable plates, and a few playful dishes you won’t normally see coming out of our kitchen (check the next slide for the menu 👀)

Even better? The team at Chulo will be doing what they do best - pairing it all with their seriously good cocktails 🍸

A Taste of Central Anatolia 🌾

We’re continuing our journey across Türkiye with the third dinner in our Regional Dinner Series. From the coast, we move inland, this time exploring the flavors of Central Anatolia.

If the Black Sea was defined by sea and greenery, and Marmara by migration and layered influence, Central Anatolia is shaped by land. Wheat fields. Wood-fired ovens. Slow-cooked dishes built from patience and tradition. It is food rooted in resilience and craftsmanship.

On Thursday, March 12, we’ll gather for a guided five-course dinner inspired by this deeply traditional cuisine, presented as a shared, immersive experience.

Winter is when restaurants get a little quieter… and a little more creative.

And that’s exactly what Taste Around is all about!

Each winter, this community-wide dining event invites you to explore Penticton’s food scene through thoughtfully crafted tasting menus. It’s an excuse to linger a little longer, try something new, and support local restaurants when it matters most.

For Taste Around this year, we’ve created a $50 multi-course menu that feels comforting, generous, and very much rooted in how we love to cook this time of year. It’s a chance to experience Elma a little differently—featuring dishes and flavours you have come to know and love.

It’s also wonderfully flexible. Choose what speaks to you, whether you’re craving something hearty, something plant-based, or something entirely new. (And yes—if you’re dining vegan, we’ve thought of you too 🌿)

Taste Around is one of our favourite winter events - not just because of the food, but because it brings locals out to support locals. It’s perfect for date nights, midweek dinners with friends, or those evenings where you just want to be taken care of.

Introducing Aleppo Çikolata - our Turkish-inspired entry for the Okanagan Hot Chocolate Festival.

Dark chocolate meets a gentle Aleppo pepper finish, creating a cozy winter sip with a subtle kick. It’s finished in true Elma fashion, with baklava cold foam, pistachio toffee, and a petite piece of Zerrin’s burma to bring a taste of family tradition to the cup.

The Okanagan Hot Chocolate Festival runs until February 15. Pick up a flavour passport from the Welcome Centre (they’re going fast!) to collect stamps and enter to win $450 in gift cards and swag. There are 58 stops across the Okanagan and 9 here in Penticton, plus a Reader’s Choice vote, Instagram photo contest, and a colouring contest for kids. Check out for all the details!

Our Regional Dinner Series continues! After a beautiful sold-out night in the Black Sea, we’re heading to Marmara - the historic crossroads of cultures and the region Chef Cenk calls home.

Expect a deeply traditional menu, stories about the region, ingredients with history, rakı and meze culture, Ottoman palace dishes, and the flavors of Istanbul.

On January 30, we continue our culinary journey across Türkiye — and this time, we’re heading to the Marmara region.

This is the region that Chef Cenk calls home, and he is very excited to share the flavours, traditions, and stories of Istanbul and beyond.

Our first Regional Dinner Series exploring the Black Sea was incredibly well received — and we’re grateful for everyone who joined us for such a special night.
