A Fond Farewell (For Now) and a Warm Welcome

For the past three seasons, Abby Cochrane(right) has greeted our guests with a smile that makes Gillespie House Inn feel like home. Abby joined our team at just 15 years old, and in the seasons since, she has welcomed hundreds of guests from all over the world with the same steadfast warmth, care, and hospitality every single time.

This fall, Abby is trading her front desk for a front row seat at StFX University, where she’ll be diving into the health stream. We are so incredibly proud of the young woman she has become, and we know that same dedication she brought to our guests will carry her far. Good luck, Abby — you will be missed here on the Shore, but we can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes you!

And as one chapter closes, another opens. We’re so excited to welcome Molly MacLeod to the Gillespie House family. Molly has hit the ground running this season, and we’re thrilled to have her with us through the fall and into next year. She’s been learning the ropes from the best — with Abby as her mentor, and Michelle Blinn and Becky Wagstaff as her guiding lights along the way.

To Abby and Molly both: here’s to new beginnings, big adventures, and the kind of hospitality that stays with you wherever you go. Good luck at university, Abby, and good luck in grade 12, Molly — we’re cheering you on!

A Weekend of Their Own 💛

Caregiving is a labour of love — but everyone deserves a little rest, including the person being cared for.

This fall, Gillespie House Inn is opening our doors for a luxury respite weekend designed just for them: a five-star Inn experience with comfortable accommodations, wonderful dining, and a full program of gentle recreation, music, laughter, and new friends.

Support is quietly on hand the whole time, with an LPN and CCA present on-site for added reassurance. This isn’t a clinical care program — it’s a dignified, joyful getaway for mobile, low-support older adults, giving families peace of mind ahead of the busy holiday season.
