Relay Coffee Roasters is a local roasterie, Hamilton ON, focusing on the art and craftsmanship of roasting coffee. We exist to provide Hamilton's independent coffeehouses, restaurants, and retailers with the best fairtrade and organic coffee. Awards include the One Award from First Ontario Credit Union, Outstanding Small Business from Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, Hamilton Spectator's Reader's Choice Award for Fancy Coffee, and Top 40 Under 40 Entrepreneurs in Hamilton.

We're hiring a barista for a front of house position at RELAY: King William!

➡️ A position at RELAY requires the following:

- FULL AVAILABILITY immediately & into the fall. Please don't apply if you're looking for summer hours only.

- regarding availability - shifts are scheduled between 6 am - 11 pm seven days a week (minus Sunday evenings)

- cheerful & energetic personality - thrives in a fast paced environment

- ability to multi-task; calm & efficient

- barista/coffee/hospitality experience

- great work ethic; ability to work under pressure; good time management when the pace slows down.

- warm personality and a desire to connect with our team & cafe community

- integrity around team building (we have a zero gossip/talking behind other employees backs policy)

- organized, takes initiative, very clean

- committed to the vision of making people's day better for having visited RELAY

If you already have your Food Handlers Certification this is an asset.

- warm personality and a desire to connect with our team & cafe community

Last night Jason & I were honoured to receive a Hamilton BIA Award of Excellence for Business and Community Partnership.

We feel grateful to have spent the evening with so many Hamilton entrepreneurs and business owners - good people who genuinely make our city better.

Community is why we do it. Partnering with and, over the years, so many other organizations & events within the city, and building beautiful spaces that enhance community life is core to who we are at RELAY.

Jason & I may be the owners of RELAY, but we are by no means running things solo. For 15+ years there have been incredible employees who have given us their time, energy, and love for people, to build RELAY into what it is. We are deeply thankful for everyone, past & present, who share our vision and who make our city better, one interaction at a time.

Thank you to the City of Hamilton and to all the people who have supported and encouraged us. From the people buying our beans all the way back in 2008, to our new fans who met us through Heated Rivalry, to family & friends who loaned us funds and encouraged us on hard days, to every single person who has stopped by for a coffee and said "thank you" to their barista. We love you 💙

Come by, get a bevvie, and enjoy this show!! Support for the Downtown Local Forged in Music Programming comes from the Hamilton JUNOs Host Committee and is free for you to attend as we celebrate all the music our city has to offer!

Special thanks to the Hamilton JUNOs Host Committee , to Lisa from , , jimmyhayes, and to the RELAY team who makes events like this run smoothly!

We hope you'll join us!! Come before 5 pm as we'd like to create a receptive space for the music from 5 - 6 pm.

As you might have heard RELAY is hosting a Heated Rivalry Fan Meet Up on Wednesday February 21st.
It is currently sold out.
The event organizer is looking at adding some more seats but it will still be limited.
They are also looking at hosting a second event, so follow us for that announcement.

We’ve got coffee! (obviously) We’ve got new holiday teas from Rishi, alter eco chocolate bars, gift certificates for good times at the cafe, and coffee brewing equipment like the Hario V60!

We’re open until 5 pm on Christmas Eve for all your last minute gifts and hostess appreciation things.

We love seeing you and have so much gratitude for how you’ve patronized our cafe and ordered beans online and coffee for your businesses this past year. We wish you many joys over the next few weeks. You’ve got this!

The Christmas Things are in full swing at RELAY, though, full warning, they sell out almost as quickly as our team can bake them and make them!

Yuletide Cold Brew ~ creamy, sweet, peppermint, mocha cold brew!
Gingerbread Syrup ~ add it to your latte, chai, iced bevvie, or cold brew!
Peppermint Mocha Hot Chocolate ~ that probably enough detail - yum!
Festive shortbread cookies!
Gingerbread Cookies ~ vegan and free of gluten ingredients but you’d never know!

I may have gone overboard with the exclamation marks but hey, ‘‘tis the season to celebrate 🌟
