Well, good news Hamilton!🍩🍩
We are back open after the most stressful fryer fiasco ever!🫠
Our test batch has just finished and everything went well. The last hurdle is making sure everything runs smoothly for our in-store batch tomorrow at 6 a.m., but things are looking good!🙌🙌
For those of you who don't know, our main fryer went down on Sunday and has been sent away for repairs. Our backup fryer, which we spent all day installing on Tuesday, died halfway through our bake. We later found out it had been delivered with a faulty part, one that's nearly impossible to find locally.😔
However, thanks to the hard work of Brandon (Carly's husband also the guy in the super hero cape), we were able to get back up and running. He tracked down the part all the way in British Columbia and had it next-day shipped to us. He also connected us with our new friends at Advantage, who came in and got us back up and running. They worked alongside us for two days, got everything fixed, and it's looking like we're good to go!
A huge thank you to Jay from Advantage. You were an absolute pleasure to have here, and we're happy to call you family now.❤️
We're still a little shook up and keeping a very close eye on this fryer, but so far, so good. We are officially back up and running as of 5 a.m. on Friday, June 12th!🍩🍩
However, we will be serving out the window starting at 9pm tonight!
On another note, we know we say this a lot, but Hamilton, while we were stressed and worried about our fryer, we were completely overwhelmed by the love and support from this community.
To every single person who left a comment, shared a post, left a review, or sent a message checking on us and asking how you could help, thank you. You are the heart of Hamilton.💛🖤
We wouldn't be able to do what we love most without your constant support. Sam and Carly have been in tears reading your messages between repairs and phone calls. The kindness, encouragement, and support you've shown our family has meant more than you'll ever know.
Thank you for supporting our family business, our staff, and our kids. We love this city, and we love being a small part of it.
We'll see you bright and early Friday morning!🙌

Update: WE ARE BACK UP AND RUNNING!

Hamilton, the bad news continues, and honestly, we can't seem to catch a break.
Our new fryer, which we were only able to use once, was delivered with a faulty part (without our knowledge) that has now failed. A replacement part has been ordered, but unfortunately it will take 2–3 days to arrive and be installed.
We are extremely disappointed and stressed. What we thought was fixed has turned into something much bigger than we ever expected.
We will be reaching out to anyone with orders scheduled over the next few days, and as always, we'll continue to post updates here as we get them.
Please don't be upset with us. We are doing absolutely everything we can to get back up and running, but right now we're feeling pretty defeated.
Hamilton, we are so sorry to let you down.
Our hope is to be back for Saturday, if not sooner. We truly can't believe this has happened again.
Thank you for all the kindness, support, and patience you've shown us this week. It means more than you'll ever know.
We love you all, and we hope you still love us.

Hamilton... we are speechless!
Yesterday was a record-breaking day in the 19 years we've been open. We set a goal for the number of batches we wanted to make, and we hit it!
Every single staff member was working, plus Mr. Logan jumped in to help too.
We truly cannot say enough about our incredible bakers and front-of-house team. Their work ethic, dedication, and passion for donuts are unmatched, and we are so blessed to have the donut family that we do. The long hours, early mornings, and teamwork that went into yesterday were nothing short of amazing.
And to Hamilton, without you, there would be no Grandad's. Your continued support, every review, like, comment, share, visit, and recommendation means more to us than you'll ever know. The loyalty and love you show our little donut shop is truly heartwarming.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making yesterday possible and for supporting us for the past 19 years. We are incredibly grateful and look forward to serving this amazing community for many years to come.
