THIS COULD BE YOU /// We’re in need of some full time hamburger help in the kitchen. Do you need a bunch of experience? Not really! Is that because it’s really easy and anyone can do it? Nope! It’s because we’re mostly interested in hiring great people who want to be taught to do things the way we do them around here. Will there be opportunities for advancement? Almost certainly! There are a few key roles here at the shop, and the goal is to provide everyone an opportunity to become capable in all areas of the kitchen. Will this job help me own my own restaurant someday? It wouldn’t hurt! There are decades of experience in the building, complete with a couple of Red Seal certifications - we’re in our ninth year of business, and have worked in numerous successful restaurants throughout our careers. Do you get two additional paid weeks off per year? Yep! Why though? Because it’s important to get rest. Will you need to work evenings and weekends and be available through the busiest periods of the year? Absolutely - restaurants are busiest when most people are out and about having a good time (summer, local events, long weekends etc). This post is getting a bit long. Important details: starting wage $20 per hour plus great tips, flexible health and wellness spending account, free meals on shift, discounted meals when you’re a guest, AND you’ll be working with so many lovely humans. LOST /// Chris had some of these made because he’s a big golf guy and I have been dabbling in golf. We weren’t supposed to use them because then we’d lose them and people would find them and realize that the people who own Cooks are the kind of golfers that lose golf balls. Anywho, it happened. I’m the one who lost the ball. We have more and would probably sell you a couple if you would also like to lose them on the golf course. Ok? Thank you!

JOIN US /// We haven’t added to the squadron in a while. Is it because this is a good place to work? That’s not really for me to say, but I will admit that we put a lot of time and effort into making it so. There are cool perks like free meals, great tips, a health and wellness spending account, and 2 additional weeks of paid vacation per year (a total of 4 weeks!). We offer a starting wage of $19/hour. Pass this sucker along if you think you know a person who would get along with us :)

EIGHTISH /// They say that people shouldn’t open restaurants. They say they usually fail. They say that you should be careful or you will end up flipping burgers for a living. We didn’t listen. We weren’t careful. We’re still here. It has been very cool and fun cooking for you. Some of you have become people we recognize. We may even remember your names. We even remember some of your preferences. That’s what you get for coming here so often, so regularly. My favourite part of all of this has been working with the people who have decided to join us. Anywho, the real burger birthday is tomorrow and we won’t be open. Thank you to the academy. Thank you to our families. Thank you to our friends. Thank you to you. ❤️

SEXY POTATO SAYS WE’RE OPEN /// This potato is no longer with us but before it became fries it told us that we needed to be open on July 1 2026 or we would never see another sexy potato again. This felt like a credible threat from what might have been the only sexy potato oracle in the universe, so we’re open today. There will be no features. Our whole menu is special! There will be no discounts, unless you consider the fact that all prices go up eventually and that buying anything today will likely represent a discount when you look back on it. If you’re not going to eat and drink at our cute little independent restaurant then we highly recommend visiting a different but also cute little independent restaurant. Oh no I’m out of ideas. Have fun today. Be nice to each other.

COOKS LIGHT IS ON TAP /// The homies Land & Sea Brewing Co. have once again honoured us with a b**r that bears our name. Did we contribute to the recipe or making of it in any way? No. Levon and his team don’t need our help making delicious b**r. It’s a light bodied, crushable domestic style l***r made with care and quality ingredients. How did this happen in the first place? It started as a trade - I provided a silly drawing, and they provided a b**r that we could call Cooks Light. How many times has this happened? This is the third edition. It’s great and we’re happy to offer it here at the shop until the supply has been exhausted. Can you buy one of the hats from picture? Yes. Can you get Cooks Light in a can if you’re wanting some for future use? Also yes. Will this post ever end? Probably! Are we living in a simulation? I can’t say for sure because I’m just a burger person. Alright? Alright! Have a great night, amigos :)

THE PHONES ARE WORKING /// Big thanks to our telecom overlords for letting us have our phone service back. We were beginning to worry that they didn’t care at all. That couldn’t possibly be true, right? They care. Deeply. Why else would they use fluffy and cute animals in their advertisements? Anywho - barring a massive change in our personal finances we will continue to be a restaurant and forgo the pursuit of our very own bespoke telecommunications business. We’re here 11:30-9:00, Wednesday-Sunday. We look forward to hearing your lovely voices on the telephone during those hours but not before or after those hours because we transform into amorphous non verbal goo when we’re not doing restaurant things. Still reading? Oh no. Stop reading. Go back a few lines and stop there please. Ok? Thank you!

HELLO OLD FRIEND /// I’ve had a lot of fun doing silly drawings but this one probably makes me chuckle the most. It’s an incarcerated ramekin of mayonnaise. There’s a possibility it has never been thought of, let alone illustrated and then printed on a t-shirt. Artificial Intelligence? Nope! Just an iPad and my weird little brain. Anywho - these are blue on blue and probably look really nice on you. Come to the shirt store and get a b**r and a burger. You’ve got till 9 :)

WE CAN’T TALK ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW /// Our phone is shut off for some really complicated but foolish reasons. That means you can place orders in person or through the computer. We really don’t like this. It is bad. It should be fixed by tomorrow but we will never ever be able to experience today again. Anywho, we’re really looking forward to a sincere apology and generous compensation package from our service provider. That’s a thing, right? Ok. Back to work. See you later, kids!
