Social Grounds is a new coffee shop in the community of Oakridge, Calgary. arts and crafts workshops.

We see ourselves as more than just a coffee shop, but also as a gathering spot for our wonderful community to come together. In addition to coffee, tea, lattes, snacks & icecream we will be offering yoga & pilates classes along with D.I.Y. We are Coffee & All Things Social and can't wait to welcome you to our space in May, 2023!

Maybe I shouldn’t put this out there for fear that the incredibly talented Kaitlin Friesen Art | Artist gets discovered and leaves us at Social Grounds, but I am seriously blown away by this girl’s artistic ability!

I recently asked Kaitlin to create a painting of our family cabin, a place that holds so many special memories for us but that we no longer own. We gifted the painting to our dad on his birthday this past weekend, and his reaction was priceless! The word he kept repeating was “WOW”! She captured it so beautifully, and it meant so very much to him!

Kaitlin sells her prints of Calgary landmarks right here at Social Grounds, and she also takes commissions if you have a special place you’d love to have captured in a drawing.

Oh, and if you happen to pop in on a Wednesday or Friday, she makes a heck of a latte as well!

Come check out her prints in our retail corner and show this talented local artist some love!

Preschool Yoga & Art is BACK at Social Grounds! We’re so excited to welcome back this fun-filled weekly class for little ones ages 2.5–5!
Join Shayla in our craft room to get creative with age-appropriate crafts, then head into the yoga studio with Cindy to try some fun yoga moves!

This is an unparented drop-in class, giving your little ones a chance to create, move, learn and have a blast while you enjoy a little grown-up time. Parents are welcome to hang out in our coffee shop, sip a coffee and catch up with friends or connect with other members of our community.

A little creativity, a little movement and a whole lot of fun! We can’t wait to see those little faces back in the studio! Mondays 10:15-11:15am.

We have a revolving door of workshops at Social Grounds lately, and they’re all so amazing that I have to pick and choose which ones we actually NEED to do!

November 8th brings TWO creative opportunities!

Afternoon: Learn the art of lino printing and create beautiful holiday cards — perfect for spreading a little handmade holiday cheer!

After hours: Tanvi shah is back! This time, you’ll create your very own resin charcuterie board, with your choice of a round or rectangular design.

Whether you’re trying something new or adding another creative project to your collection, we’ve got the perfect excuse to get out, grab a cozy drink and spend some time creating in a warm, supportive environment.

Excited to introduce a new class that I know I desperately need! Think long, luxurious stretches and hands-on adjustments that leave you feeling like you’ve just had a massage.

If you haven’t been to one of Tania’s Tania Brown classes, you definitely need to! Somehow, she always makes you feel so good that your body doesn’t want to leave when the hour is up. If your body is feeling tight, tense or just in need of a little TLC, do it a favour and book into our first Release & Restore class tonight at 6:45 PM!

And because we want you to give it a try, tonight’s class is HALF PRICE! Your body, mind and wallet will thank you. See you in the studio!

Happy Thanksgiving, Social People!

We’ll be closed Sunday & Monday to spend a little extra time with our families, but before we go, we want you to know just how thankful we are for you! You make Social Grounds the special little community it is, and we’re so grateful to be part of it.
