Very dirty system, but we were able to get it clean to a very acceptable condition. We feel the pain and stress you can feel not knowing if your investment is in the right hands. Unfortunately we have seen this being the case too often. And that is why we are here. To change the industry and to make sure we keep restaurants safe from fires one at a time. As per NFPA 96, all up last fans are required to have an access opening to better clean and inspect the fan.

8.1.6.3.1- Upblast fans shall be supplied with an access opening of a minimum 76 mm by 127 mm (3 in. by 5 in.) or a circular diameter of 101 mm (4 in.) on the curvature of the outer fan housing to allow for cleaning and inspection of the fan blades.

In Calgary this as 100% mandatory and not having it can be caused for closure as of September 2019, prior to this date the fire marshal was a lot more lineman with this simple piece of code and equipment.
