Just got a text from Brother John — “Steak dinner for four?”

Congrats Kelly and John on your 24 year anniversary.

I can never say no to him, so a quick steak dinner it is! Got exactly 30 minutes to assemble ingredients some from my garden, I had steak in the cooler

Pan-seared steak
Wh***ey peppercorn sauce
Blackberry balsamic reduction
Creamy mashed potatoes
Glazed carrots
Crispy sage & shallots

Nothing planned, nothing complicated — just good food made with love for four. ❤️
And after such a rich dinner, a simple dessert — warm pecan butter tart with vanilla ice cream, fresh blackberry and a touch of blackberry-balsamic reduction.

Sometimes the best dinners are the ones you weren’t planning to cook.
