Serving some Haida Seafood Chowder inside Bill Reid’s Haida House at UBCs Museum of Anthropology. Wasn’t even on my bingo card for this year but glad to check it off the bucket list anyways! Super grateful for every event I get asked to be a part of.

WOW!! What an amazing day!!
Museum of Anthropology once again. This time in the GORGEOUS Bill Reid Haida House as the Haidas celebrate the newest book launch featuring the works of Christian White.

Raven Transforms is a beautiful book showcasing decades of work that has found its way all over the globe.

I was lucky to be asked to feed the people. And did we ever! Seafood Jaam aka Haida Seafood Chowder…. Grilled Salmon Mousse Sandwiches, black gold seaweed, and so much more.

Honoured to be asked to cook for this amazing book launch. Excited to share a meal with everyone as Christians work is shared and discussed. He’s a great artist, but also an even better person who genuinely cares for his friends, family, and communities.

Join MOA this Sunday, September 20 at 1 pm for the launch of Raven Transforms: The Haida Argillite Art of Kihl’yahda Christian White, a new book by Gary Wyatt with Kihl’yahda Christian White and a foreword by Karen Duffek.

The celebration will feature remarks by the artists and authors, followed by a Haida cultural performance by the Tluu Xaada Naay Society.

Well that was an amazing weekend in gorgeous Alert Bay for this years annual June Sports Soccer Tournament. We can’t thank the organizers & committee, the players and families who travelled to be there, and the community for hosting us as we cooked every bit of food we had.

We hope you enjoyed the food and drinks. We would be honoured to come back again next year and do it all again, with even more fried bologna!

Keep an eye out for us all year long. And tell us where you want us to pop up next! Sports tourneys, canoe races, powwows, potlatches, you name it.

Excited to have a restful long weekend! Hope that wherever you are, that you’re able to rest and recharge as well.
