We’ve got a proper Speyside lineup on the shelf right now — four different expressions of , one of the most important names in Scotch wh**ky.

A little history for those who like the stories behind the bottles:

In the early 1800s the remote Livet valley was famous for illicit wh**ky. The spirit was so well regarded that when King George IV visited Scotland in 1822, he specifically asked for “Glenlivet.” Two years later, after the Excise Act made legal distilling more viable, a local farmer named George Smith became the first person in the parish to take out a licence. His neighbours (many of them still operating illegally) were not happy — Smith took to carrying a pair of pistols for protection. He stuck with it, and in 1824 The Glenlivet was born. Decades later the family even fought in court to protect the definite article — making sure only their wh**ky could be called The Glenlivet.
