The decor is best described as ‘affectionately lived in’. The jukebox selection is as alternative as the punters who love to shoot a few games of pool. The “Courty” pays tribute to its location on Australia Street: the walls are decorated with a massive coat of arms and an Aussie flag. The Sydney Swans vest is indicative of the massive ‘Swannies’ fan base at the pub, who pack the pub to watch the

AFL games on the screens. On any given day, locals, students, firemen, plumbers and artists will be enjoying a beer at the bar. The Bistro menu is brimming with old favourites such as the Courty Burger and the Chicken Parmigiana. The 19th century hotel has the prettiest and most spacious courtyard in Newtown, offering a tranquil getaway from the noise and bustle of King Street.
