In today's episode of What I Made Wednesday, Frankie wanted a funfetti cake - so she made a funfetti cake!

The Whisky Business vanilla cake is super versatile. It's a moist and buttery cake suitable for any topping - try it with cream cheese frosting, butter cream or just by itself! It's an absolute classic.

📢 A reminder that this Sunday 21 june. Will be my last bake for term 2.

Sometimes my breads fail. It does not matter whether I've mastered and baked it plenty of times. Dough is alive and there are environmental factors that can kill it. If I am complacent, things can go bad quickly.

This week my brioche collapsed. I was devastated to watch my handiwork fall apart in the oven.

Brioche is a highly enriched dough packed with butter and eggs. Ingredients alone are expensive but the irreplaceable component is the time and skill I put into making a beautiful dough.

So last night, I spent my birthday evening making a new batch for my customers. Because my motto is: if it isn't right, I'm going to correct it.

After I baked the brioche, the kids and I watched a movie and then I ate the brioche once it had cooled. It was a birthday well spent 😍

Maritozzi!!!

In this week's episode of What I Made Wednesday, I made maritozzi - the Italian version of a cream bun. this one is made with enriched brioche dough and a Chantilly cream as a filling. I made them small so it feels like I am not eating much even though Ive already eaten 5 of them 😅 Yum yum yum
