I pride myself and my business on providing a space for connection in our community. We live in a time where our lives are rushed, we are faced with relentless pressures in all areas of our lives. I like to think that The Coffee Patch is a little pause, in a crazy world. A space where there are hugs and laughter and genuine conversations.
We check in every day but on this national day tomorrow, we will be checking in, we will be connecting with you all. Not just on R U OK DAY but every day.. you matter.

Boss Lady gets left on her own this morning and everyone wants an xlarge coffee. No time to be doubting myself.. just had to jump in. Thank you for all the early morning coffee love...

This afternoon we invested time into coffee training. Going back over how to get the best flavour and depth out of our beans, working on our milk technique and asking lots of questions around current industry trends. On the plus side, our machine and grinder are working beautifully and we all know what little things to look out for.
We know a lot of our customers ask for extra hot coffee and today we explored how 'extra hot' can affect how alternate milks engage with espresso.
It was great to spend time with Peter from Providore & Co. We absolutely love our coffee and have booked in another training in a few weeks time to keep improving our techniques and our consistency.

On another note, Thursday night we are installing some sound absorbing panels in our downstairs space. We know it can echo when there is a lot of talking and laughing. Hopefully these panels will absorb some of the echo and make it a really relaxing space for everyone.

As the weather is warming up, salads are running out the door.

The start of dinner for my Fathers Day family catch up....
Going with a Mexican theme...

Serving with corn chips, tortillas, wraps, baked potatoes, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, beans, cheese, sour cream...
I've just put a gluten free crumble in the oven and I'll be heading out to pick my Dad up from his nursing home.
I've used some bone broth as the base for the chicken & beef dish and let it simmer to thicken up.
I've kept all the dishes gluten free.

Happy Sunday.
To all the Dads, uncles, stepdads, granddads, mums that dad, siblings that dad.. wishing you all a day filled with love, happiness, memories and laughter. Thank you to everyone who came in for Brunch yesterday.... what a great day.
When I'm in the kitchen I don't get a chance to take photos of our plated meals but when I'm doing catering I have more time... so here are a few more from the last couple of days. (Missing the morning tea platters and sandwich/wrap platters from last 3 days because... I forgot to take them🙈🤔)

This is a notice in relation to our toilets.
Today one of my junior staff went to clean the toilets. She came in gagging and very distressed.
In the cupboard under the handsink was human faeces sitting on a blue chux..
The questions I have are not for this platform but I am disgusted. I understand accidents happen but to leave faeces on a cloth under our sink.. is not ok......
So I'm going to say this very clearly..
If our bathroom is disrespected or trashed... there will be no access for customers.
If you have an accident or need assistance, you can speak with me discreetly.
This has absolutely flawed me.
Please respect our facilities.

We are open longer today...we are cooking up until 1.30 pm and I'm loving our Saturday menu.
I cannot believe how many brisket breakfast burgers and breakfast feasts we've sold...💃💃
