From bumper cars and big smiles to Pavilion entries showcasing local talent, to the buzz of the chainsaw and woodchop competitions and cattle and horse events - there’s something for 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 to enjoy.

WOW! WHAT A PHENOMENAL RESPONSE TO OUR 10 YEAR ANNOUNCEMENT, THANK YOU EVERYONE! 😊 We thought we would back it up with an update on the business as there are a few big changes.

Firstly, last year we decided we needed both cafes with the same setup. So over the last 12 months with great difficulty we have transformed the Mrs Ownsys trailer into our ultimate events cafe.
We have installed a big super powered donut robot, a commercial mixer as well as a larger coffee machine to help us cater for large scale events.

So now there is no confusion...both trailers sell coffee shop goods and hot fresh cinnamon and jam donuts. Also at selected events we will be back selling our delicious hot dogs 🌭
We have also started offering bulla ice cream tubs at events to compliment your hot donuts 🍩

We are looking forward to selling cinnamon donuts at all our events just like the old days and over the next few months there are plenty on the calendar, so keep an eye on our page to make sure you don't miss out and once again thank you all!

TODAY WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT Ownsys Retro Cafe RECENTLY REACHED A MASSIVE MILESTONE! WE ARE CELEBRATING 10 YEARS IN BUSINESS AND WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WE HAVE MET ALONG THE WAY!

It all started when Chris first thought up this crazy idea while working on night shift on Curtis Island's QLNG GAS PLANT CONSTRUCTION. He never thought he'd quit his job, but that he did. The big leap into self employment included Karina quitting her job to make it a full time gig 🤔

In the early days it was tough finding our feet location wise and getting into and selecting the right events. We tried the Boyne Plaza for a year then at the front of Benaraby Junction Nursery but finally ended up on the mighty Bruce Highway at the Benaraby Rest Area.

Events were a massive learning curve as well but we travelled the country, had awesome adventures and met some awesome people along the way. From Cooly Rocks On on the Gold Coast, the Elvis Festival in Parkes, Roma's Easter in the Country and one of our favourite adventures Music In The Mulga at Eulo.

Our fabulous Gladstone region events also deserve a special mention. The Mt Larcom Show, The Boyne Tannum HookUp, BAM as well as all the fantastic events that Gladstone Regional Council organise for the community have been a huge part of our decade in business!

At five years on in the journey our poor OG van was needing a friend to share the load so we got Mrs Ownsys Retro cafe and we haven't looked back.

We hope to bring great coffee and delicious donuts to you all for a very long time. We really enjoy our job with every day being different!Everyday we meet new and interesting people from all over the world as well as our wonderful regulars that continue to support us, some from the very beginning.

And a huge THANK YOU to all our incredible staff we've had through the doors and our ever supportive families and friends, the last decade would not have been possible without you all ❤️
