I thought I was creating flavours. I didn’t realise I was bringing memories back to life.

When this beautiful Lebanese lady tasted Sassi Ice Cream, she was transported back to her childhood in Beirut, remembering the muhallabia her grandmother used to make.

Seven years into our SASSI journey, I’ve come to realise that a flavour can do more than delight your senses. It can hold a story, a memory, and a connection to home.

I used to think guests were simply welcomed. I was wrong!

Growing up in Saudi Arabia, one of the phrases I heard most was,
“HayyAllah min jana.”
It means far more than “Welcome.”
It’s our way of saying,
“Your presence brings us joy.”
We didn’t just say those words...
We lived them.

Guests weren’t simply welcomed, they were honoured.
The best food was brought out.
Arabic coffee was poured.
The scent of oud, musk, and amber filled the air.
Every detail said,
“We’re genuinely happy you’re here.”

Looking back, I can see those moments shaped everything I wanted SASSI to stand for.

That’s the heart behind SASSI.

Every scoop is our way of saying,

I didn’t create SASSI because I wanted to sell ice cream!

I created it because I wanted people to feel what I grew up feeling around food… warmth, generosity, celebration, and connection.

I’ve always believed dessert could be so much more than something sweet at the end of a meal.
My dream was to create something that would stop people in their tracks, spark conversations, and bring back memories they didn’t expect.

As a dietitian, I know ingredients matter.
As someone who grew up in Saudi Arabia, I know stories matter.

So became a blend of both: thoughtful ingredients, meaningful flavours, and experiences inspired by culture, nostalgia, and hospitality.

We scoop SASSI for couples who want guests to remember more than just the venue.
