Since taking over Heysen Kitchen, I feel incredibly lucky and I've really been enjoying meeting so many wonderful people in our community.

One of them is Eddie, the owner of Mugshot Coffee. I've since learned that he's actually been a regular at Heysen Kitchen for a long time.😊

Since we've taken over, he has been incredibly kind to us. He's rescued us a few times when we've run out of milk 😅, introduced us to a supplier who could offer a better deal, and generously shared his knowledge and tips as we're finding our feet as a barista and new café owner.

And I think that's what I appreciate most — here's someone who runs his own coffee business, yet he's still happy to share what he knows and help another small business along the way.

It's our third week and we finally have our menu ready! Thanks so much for your support and patience, especially with the new till system causing inconsistent prices.

We're open Monday to Friday 7.30am to 2pm, and Saturday 8am-2pm. We're looking forward to serving you!

Heysen Kitchen Café in Trott Park is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Barista / Café All-rounder to join our growing team!

We're more than just a café—we're building a warm community space where people can enjoy great coffee, delicious food and genuine connection.

Hours:
🕢 Approximately 20–30 hours per week
📅 Monday to Saturday
⏰ Shifts generally between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm

What you'll be doing:
✅️ Making quality coffee and drinks
✅️ Assisting with simple food preparation
✅️ Providing excellent customer service
✅️Keeping the café clean and welcoming
✅️Working as part of a supportive team

We're looking for someone who:
✔ Has barista experience (preferred)
✔ Loves working with people
✔ Is reliable and takes pride in their work
✔ Can work in a fast-paced environment
✔ Is happy to help wherever needed
