RIP Sass Jordan

Sad to hear of the passing of Sass Jordan , a Canadian rock singer I’ve followed since 1994. We play her music a lot at the bar, one of my female singers. A great, gritty voice she was a brilliant rock and blues singer.

Our Oktoberfest starts tomorrow (or if you want a sneak preview 3 b**rs are ready today). Only one b**r didn’t get delivered so there is a great choice for you from both Germany and England.

Unfortunately smoke_and_buns cannot make it tomorrow now. Chef Luke has been unwell this week and his health is more important so we will not have them tomorrow though hoping to reschedule at some point.

See you tomorrow and all weekend for some great b**rs.

Line up for our Oktoberfest which starts next Friday 2nd October from 2pm.
Starting with cask ale we have Neptune Brewery Altbier 4.9%, a traditional style out of Düsseldorf

On keg it’s a mix of German 🇩🇪 breweries and English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 breweries doing German styles.

Hofbrau Dunkel 5.5%
Schneider Helles 4.9%
Schneider Weisse 5.4%
Fruh Kolsch 4.8%

From England
Anspach & Hobday Festbier 5.8%

On Friday from 5pm-9pm will be food pop up from smoke_and_buns with some bratwursts.

Pleased to say that once again we have made CAMRA Good B**r Guide for 2027. Thank you to everyone who voted for us - we really appreciate it. As it is Cask Ale Week , please come and celebrate with us.

Also a big thanks to both Nick and Sally who I couldn’t run this place without them.

Our Oktoberfest will be held weekend 2-4th October with a mixture of traditional German b**rs and English versions of German b**rs with some on cask as well this year. Details of the b**rs to follow
We will also have smoke_and_buns coming in to provide food with obviously some bratwursts being served.

2 days in the Norwegian Fjords done with visits to Flam and Olden. Beautiful scenery and a few local b**rs tried from .bryggeri and
Sea day today off to Zeebrugge with a day trip to Bruges - wonder what we might do there…

Reached Norwegian waters today with a scenic sailing of the Hardangerfjord. Beautiful scenery as ever with Norway and always amazes me how quiet it is. Got treated to a mini rainbow as well.
Off to Flam tomorrow
