Mexico has a *Day of the Dead Festival* spanning two days with favourite foods of the deceased prepared & *marigolds* incense & candles. It's a tradition that now has a national parade attached to it with *marigolds* being the star flower offered to ancestors.
*The Hindus observe Pitr Paksh or Mahalagya Paksham for the next 18 days commencing today.*
The Durban Indian community observe this time with great care with some families preparing up to 40 different varieties of vegetarian meals & vegetarian snacks for their prayer.
