🍽️ A message from B's Bistro — Comfort Dining
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that B's Bistro will be serving its last meals on this Sunday 12 April 2026.
When we were invited to move after having no where to go and re-opened in November 2025 our vision was re-invented — to create a truly special farm-to-table dining experience in the heart of the Drakensberg. A place where every dish told a story, every ingredient was chosen with love, and every guest felt at home.
Our vision was bigger than just a restaurant. We endeavoured to create a true destination — a place where guests could stroll through our vegetable greenhouse and see first-hand the ingredients that were making their way to the plate. Where children could interact with farm animals, dig their toes in the sand and families could connect with the land, the food, and each other in a way that only the Drakensberg can make possible. We believed in something magical here and we worked every single day to bring it to life.
You — our incredible customers — made that dream real. Your support, your loyalty, your kind words and your 5-star reviews carried us through every challenge. You showed up for us again and again and we will never forget that.
We were required from the outset to operate in line with the 4-star lodge — and we are immensely proud to say that despite everything we faced, we not only met that standard but exceeded it every single day, earning our guests' consistent 5-star reviews and making B's Bistro a destination in its own right. That achievement belongs entirely to you and to our incredible team.
Sadly we were placed in an impossible position. The infrastructure required to operate at this level was never fully provided to us despite repeated requests and our best efforts to find solutions. Our farm-to-table concept — the very heart of what B's Bistro was created to be — was revoked without justification, taking with it our vision of a truly immersive dining experience. And despite our best efforts, the parking situation created by severe weather conditions at this location made it increasingly difficult for our guests to access us safely and comfortably.
We fought for every solution. We proposed alternatives. We invested everything we had — financially, creatively, and personally — into making B's Bistro everything it was meant to be and more.
The decision to close is not one we made lightly or willingly. The last year has taken its toll and we have made the tough decision that it is time to make our own way — on our own terms, in our own space, with the freedom to finally deliver everything we have always promised.

To our beautiful Drakensberg community — thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To our loyal regulars who became friends — you will always have a special place at our table wherever that table may be next.
B's Bistro may be closing this chapter but the story is far from over. Our dream — and our promise to you — is to one day open our own place on our own terms. A place where we can finally deliver everything we envisioned here and everything we promised you. Where the vegetable greenhouse, the farm animals, the farm-to-table experience, and the 5-star food will all be exactly what they were always meant to be. Watch this space.
