On 16 November 2017 we opened the doors at The Daily Coffee Café Three Rivers entering a new chapter in our lives. It was not long before our offering as a community-based café became a reality and we turned out to be a popular destination. Many birthdays and other special occasions were celebrated at The Daily! When the 21 day lockdown was announced from 26 March, we were positive that after a 21 day well deserved rest we will be back with increased energy to open the doors and trade again. At no stage did we think it would be extended to 35 days and then the shock of the levels introduced thereafter. We made a decision not to open for deliveries as we were not geared to compete in this market for which our business was not aligned for prior to COVID-19. Also the amount of passing trade at the centre would not justify Take Away trading. Now on 84 days later it is with sadness that we have to admit that the financial impact of the COVID-19 extended lockdown could not be sustained. We will thus not open the doors of The Daily Coffee Café Three Rivers again for trading.
We urge you to support similar businesses in the area to ensure that they can grow and recover from the impact of COVID-19.
Thank you to all our regulars and loyal clients who supported us! We will miss each and everyone of you who became like family. If you are in the area please come and visit us at our Ferndale store.
