Monkens has reached and end of a era we are closing down. We have decided to call it quits due to the current circumstances we all find ourselves in it is a Sad day for us , The amazing friendships, fellowships, tears, laughter and good times that we have had with almost every one of our customers, who swiftly became friends and family, over the past 7 years, very faithful customers to the person that has only ever been in once. We thank everyone of you for being part of our story.
We have an idea that every one of our interactions was designed by the Creator of all.
From the 2 gents who drank their tea and coffee almost every morning for seven years at the same table, to the quiet lady who sat on our stoep every morning reading the paper or planning her art works . Mr Roth and his special sandwich. Folk who travel far for a slice of Monique's Chocolate Cake . The brothers who ate breakfast on our stoep every week for years . The young shy school girl who sat on our stoep, who has returned as a young lady & friend. Tourists that traveled long detours for a yummy muffin and returned every year just for a Hug.
We could write for weeks. Very, Very many fond memories, and valuable lessons learnt and amazing stories told and heard. We aren't sure about much these days, but know for sure that there is so much love and humility out there, we just need to open our eyes and hearts to see.
We thank you all, but mostly we thank our Heavenly Father for all His blessings and love for us, and you.
We will miss you all but I am sure we will meet again maybe not in our shop maybe in our home or yours .
