The Ultimate Winter Cheese Hack: Baked Camembert in a Sourdough
Because some things are too good not to share; especially when it’s cold outside and you’ve got a Camembert waiting for greatness.
How to make it (short + simple):
Cut a snug hole in a sourdough loaf and pop a whole Camembert inside. Score the rest of the loaf in a criss‑cross pattern.
Mix chopped garlic, thyme and olive oil; spoon over the cheese and into the cuts. Add a splash of white wine or sherry if you like, then drizzle with honey.
Tear the leftover bread into chunky croutons, drizzle with oil and scatter around the loaf.
Bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes until the cheese is molten and the bread is golden. Serve hot with the extra croutons for dipping.
A warm, wholesome winter treat and yes, you can grab your Camembert right here at The Cheese Shop on the R60.
