A YEAR OF KLEIN ALTO

Klein Alto has been open for just over a year, and we can’t help but feel a little nostalgic looking back at how far we’ve come.

What began as a beautiful vision has grown into a place filled with warmth, good food, great w**e and memories made around the table. Swipe through to see how this special place came to life.

A TASTE OF HERITAGE

This September, we’re celebrating our heritage all month long at Klein Alto, starting with two delicious limited-edition additions to our menu.

First up, our Chef’s Special Boerie Burger, enjoy a 200g pure beef boerie burger topped with melted mozzarella, red onion marmalade, dill-pickled cucumbers and vegetable atchar mayo, finished with wild rocket, served with hand-cut fries and paired with a glass of Alto Rouge 2024 for R215.00.

For something sweet, we’re bringing a true South African favourite to the table, the much-loved Peppermint Crisp Tart, a perfect sweet ending to your Klein Alto experience

Both dishes are available Tuesday to Sunday during lunch only, throughout September.

MEET THE TEAM

Since joining the Alto family in 2023, Likho has brought a quiet passion to everything he does. With an exceptional eye for detail and a willingness to always learn and share his knowledge, he has become a valued member of our team.

Likho’s journey into the w**e industry is an inspiring one. He started out as a runner and worked his way up to a waiter and w**e advisors, all while developing his passion for w**e. His dedication led him to complete his WSET Level 2, and he is also a qualified tour guide.

What he loves most about Alto is our unique terroir and the w**es we create from it, with Cabernet Sauvignon being his favourite varietal.

When he’s not at Klein Alto, you’ll often find Likho out guiding tours, exploring the w**elands or continuing to grow his knowledge of the industry. Likho, thank you for your calm, welcoming nature and for the passion you bring to our team. We appreciate you!

Fun fact: Likho has been running his own tour company since 2022 Rocky of Africa Travel and Tours

HERITAGE REIMAGINED

Established in 2025, Klein Alto pays tribute to the rich history of Bonte Rivier Vineyards, the farm we proudly call home. Here, we have paired timeless heritage with contemporary touches, creating a space that feels both authentic and effortlessly welcoming.

The beautifully restored historic cellar building dates back to 1824. We have taken great care to preserve the original character, from the traditional tiles, exposed brickwork to the impressive wooden ceiling beams. These historic features blend seamlessly with Klein Alto's refined aesthetic, creating a setting that honours the past while embracing the present

Whether you're visiting for a relaxed w**e tasting, a leisurely lunch or simply to soak up the atmosphere, Klein Alto offers an experience that invites you to return time and time again.
