This Sunday and Monday, we’re celebrating Women’s Day the Cafe 1865 way—with a little more pink, a few surprises, and plenty of delicious food.

Alongside our full menu, you’ll also find:

🍰 A brand-new dessert, created especially for the occasion… but you’ll have to visit us to discover that surprise.

We’re delighted to introduce a brand-new collection of paintings and sculptures, thoughtfully curated by our resident art curator Merissa Slingerland, and now on display throughout Café 1865.

Each piece has been carefully selected to bring new inspiration to our space, and we invite you to take your time exploring it. Wander through the café, discover the artworks, and see which ones capture your attention.

An exhibition catalogue is available for every guest, offering insights into each artwork and the artists behind them.

Our collection will be refreshed every three months, so there will always be something new to discover on your next visit.

Whether you’re joining us for breakfast, lunch, wood-fired pizza or drinks, we hope you’ll find something that inspires you.

There isn’t a perfect day to visit a café.

There are sunlit mornings when the garden is alive with conversation, laughter and the smell of fresh coffee. There are rainy afternoons made for a pot of tea and something warm from the kitchen. There are quiet hours when all you need is a peaceful corner to work, read or simply slow down.

Then there are the days worth celebrating. A long breakfast with your parents. Lunch with an old friend. A glass of wine after work. Or no occasion at all—just because you deserve it.

Whatever brings you through our doors, we’ll do our best to make you feel at home.

Every three months, together with our art curator Merissa Slingerland, our walls tell a new story.

Join us on 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝟏𝟕 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝟑:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌, as we unveil a fresh collection of paintings and sculptures by talented local artists. Discover new perspectives, support our creative community, and experience Cafe 1865 in a whole new light.

Carefully sourced natural produce, thoughtfully prepared dishes and a curated selection of exceptional South African wines all reflect the same philosophy: quality over excess, honest flavour over fashion, and creating an experience that’s meant to be enjoyed, not rushed.
