Dearest Gentle Reader,
Springday/month has come and gone and before we blinked the heatwave was upon us.
Things really got "hot in the kitchen " so to speak or rather the parking area....with our annual celebration of master of the pot or as I like to call it , the cauldron!
Folks from all over the county dressed in their best frocks and made the journey to our humble abode to participate in this battle which this writer can only describe as magnificent. Feed Me Val
Fires were lit and flames blazed all throughout the afternoon but, there could only be one crown prince and in this case it was Courtenay Bleming "soutpiel, shortly followed by Mia Van Zyl and Ben John Claire Cronje and from the "awesome foursome" and Anka Van Zyl and Jean Kruger from "potchella"
A certain "survivor " Santoni Engelbrecht from St.Rand joined our other guest judge David Schmitt at the round (or in this case rectangular) table where deliberation was the order of the day.
W**e flowed until cups ran over in this battle and fun was had by all.
From here we moved swiftly along to more celebrations of the birthday kind, which included none other than Lady Chris Kamfer celebrating her 60th year on earth. Hot on her heels were waters and Lady Zelda Warren to mention but a few.
We said a very sad and unexpected farewell to our dearest Allan Schell who will be remembered by all for years to come as the ruler of nameless, dunkers and locomotion. May his soul rest in peace ♥️
Quiz night this month hosted by non other than sir Big G was as much as a surprise to this writer when the winners were crowned and Kim De Kocks and their team , taking the crown for the first time in quizical history. We'll played indeed.
To end off the month of Spring we had non other than a very infamous knight Craig Vee from scummerset west county to entertain the patrons as only a knight of his statue could and should. Tableside stringing of his magnificent guitar included.
And with that we head into the month of October for the Celtic harvest festival and the age old celebration of All Hallows Eve or as we call it Halloween 🎃 A celebration of astronomical proportions is set for the evening which promises to be as scary as it should. Be sure not to miss out on this ball of the season.
