Operational since July 2013 offering Lavazza coffees, chai & coffee latte - various teas, hot chocolate and milkshakes. Enjoyed with a variety of home-baked treats such as:

* freshly baked croissants
* delicious scones with home-made strawberry jam & cream (or cheese)
* lemon meringue
* milk tart (just like Ouma used to make)
* pecan nut pie and cream

* AND the best baked cheese cake in the area - ask the locals, they'll confirm! Enjoy coffee and conversations in a relaxed atmosphere. On the bookshop side we buy and sell classics, foreign language, fiction & non-fiction and a good variety of war books, together with some lovely books on the Garden Route and Karoo. Mostly second hand books - but also a good variety of new books. Wi-Fi available as well & generator during load shedding

So... as from today, we're turning over a new leaf... We will be closing off the coffee side of our business BUT will keep the book side and become Deo Gratia Book Lounge.

After almost 13 years (est. July 2013), we're slowing down the pace a little and would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our coffee customers for the loyalty, laughs, chats and sharing of time and hearts - we appreciate each and every one of you.

For book lovers, the story continues with physical books making a strong comeback worldwide due to :

* Sensory & Tangible Appeal
* Digital Fatigue
* Collectibility
* Deeper focus and escapism

We aim to keep the lounge vibe for people to still be able to meet up with friends to chat in a relaxing atmosphere.

There will be a couple of weeks of disruption as we transition.

We're looking forward to this new chapter.

Here's a book I'm sure the guys will enjoy. Remember Mad Mike H***e? Having come through World War 2 in the British Army, qualified as a CA in London and emigrated to South Africa. Going rogue, he started living dangerously to get more out of life. A name that carries many tags : soldier, legend, mercenary commander (Congo and Seychelles), saviour of nuns, yachtsman, author and gentleman.
The film "Wild Geese" starring Richard Burton covered his time in the Congo to crush a communist rebellion. He led 50 "Frothblowers" in a bid to depose the socialist government in Seychelles. Things went wrong and he spent 3 years in jail for highjacking a Boeing 707.
