On 5 October we walked with the Mont Rietkloof Sports Committee to draw attention to cancer in the Cancer Awareness Walk - Mont Piquet to Raaswater Resort. In the cool of the morning a message of hope, understanding, care and the need to empower ourselves with knowledge of cancers was shared.

Thank you to Sadrick Jagers, Mayor Ray van Rooy, Lesley Ann & Sue Ann and Andrew Rosenberg for setting the tone for the day and sharing so openly with us.

As the heat of the day built we were met by Bergrivier Municipality traffic and law enforcement who kept us safe as we walked. It was hot. It was sweaty. It was wonderful! The water tables were an oasis that we swarmed like bees on a bompie!

The walked ended at Raaswater Resort Farm where the Die Tol at Raaswater crew served a light meal and ice cold drinks sponsored by Goedverwacht Awakens. The Raaswater based teams did an incredible job serving the masses in quick time - go team!

Andries Jacobs and Mrs Goedverwacht Retty Titus gave the closing remarks and thanks. Thank you to special guests Elize Fortuin from the ATKV, Mrs Goedverwacht Retty Titus and 1st Princess Liesl Julius.
