Dear friends... it is with a very heavy heart that the Thief team has to say goodbye. 😭 We tried, we really wanted to open our doors again, but it’s not possible right now. 💔 There are a few reasons, and most of them are obvious, unfortunate, and very frustrating. But this message is not about that. This message is to thank you all. Thank you for the incredible experiences, laughs, and shared bottles of really amazing wine! Thank you for your support, smiles and familiarity with our space. Thank you for making Thief so special for all of us. It has been such an honour to work alongside the incredible ladies and gentlemen that made Thief what it was.

It was our home, and it made us feel really wonderful when some of you also saw it as that. We loved feeding and wining you! 🍷 We all really hope that we will be able to again one day. Until then, I hope that you continue to drink all the delicious wines our beautiful country has to offer, support small and local businesses, and look after yourselves in these crazy times. We will truly miss you. But, hopefully, we will rise from the ashes again one day.

Thank you, once again, for all your support over the years. I really do hope that we will meet again sometime in the future. Much love ❤️

Hi lovely people! Today (a Thursday to remember) is our last day for now! We are very sad to say goodbye but are excited to see you on the other side in 21 days! I have a new batch of oxtail that you can pre-book and pick up between 10:30 and 18:00. We will be closing at 18:00. Please give us a buzz on the landline to check availability and avoid disappointment. We also have a delicious chorizo pasta sauce available! Gonna miss the stories, wine and good food! But I know when we meet again there will be many more stories to share! In the meantime keep safe and well! 🥰

Ok guys!!!!! The oxtail stew is ready! And I think it’s probably the best we have ever made! That might be because of the and the fact that it cooked for 12 hours!!!!!!! ⏰ it is literally fall off the bone!!! 🦴 you can also come and grab your melanzane parmigiana either piping hot or ready to store! Or pick up any other delicious items on our menu! We have redesigned things so that they travel well! Times are tough! But that is no excuse not to eat well!!!! Peace ✌️ Stay safe out there!!!! ❤️

LIVE from the THIEF KITCHEN 🍴

Hi beautiful people! Times are are really tough out there at the moment! I hope that you are all keeping safe! We are still determined to feed you well and help where we can! Happy bellies = happy 💕. We have redesigned our menu so that our food travels well, so you can just order 15 min in advance and pick up if you want! We have also added a delicious melanzane parmigiana to the menu, that you can order for 2 or 3 people to take home and enjoy on the night or freeze to enjoy later! I will be introducing a few more items like this next week so that you can either enjoy on the evening or keep for a rainy day. The ox-tail will be ready on Monday! We are going for hearty and delicious in these dark times!

While we are still open at the moment, we are implementing many measures to ensure the safety of our guests and incredible team. We will continue to keep a close eye on everything and follow any further instructions from the government. We have hand santizer available for all guests and are insuring that we all follow the correct protocols to make sure that we are compliant. Our cleaning regime has been ramped up tremendously and all surfaces are disinfected regularly. We ask that if anyone is feeling under the weather, please stay at home and get loved ones to fetch your food for you! And most importantly get well soon! Even though we sanitize our card machine after every use we encourage everyone to download -that way you can pay without touching a thing!

Don’t loose hope everyone, stay positive and eat well! Thank you so much to all the amazing people that are still supporting small businesses such as ours, and please support as many as you can. This is a crippling time and the Thief team really appreciates the love. We intend on returning it with the care and love that we put into our food. Stay safe peeps! (only the best!)

we've decided to stay open and take all necessary precautions but in the interest of staying in business, we're innovating

call us, whatsapp us, email us. we'll send you our menu. you can swing past and collect. s**t, we'll bring your food to you! we can't bring you wine unfortunately [wink, wink] but we can make damn sure you eat well in isolation

we’ll even give you grateful smiles and elbow-fives

Small-batch creations by Ewan Makenzie with a Sommelier-inspired angle alongside select, esteemed winemakers from around the cape. A collaboration showcasing unique styles and cultivar expressions that both educate and inspire the consumer. If you are into your wine or a beginner that is willing to learn about the wonders in our wine world, this is an absolute must!

We will be providing a 3 course meal with these incredible wines.

To book your spot, email us, tell us how many of you will be joining.
We do require a deposit per person as space is limited.
It is R520 per person.

We are very excited about our next wine tasting!
We will be tasting four wines from Arcangeli on this evening, the Semillon 2017, Verdehlo 2017, Nebbiolo 2017, Merlot blend 2016 and the Thief team will be feeding you some delicious food to go with it! R390 per person. Space is limited, give us a call to book!
