I don’t often share appeals like this, but this one is very close to home.
Anyone who knows me knows how much my dogs mean to me. Both of my Border Collies came from Border Collie Rescue, so this organisation is part of my own family’s story. I know first-hand what they do for dogs that need a second chance.
Border Collie Rescue SA is now in a very difficult position. Their kennels have been sold and they have to move out by 1 December 2026. They urgently need help to secure a new home for the dogs in their care.
There is also quite a history behind this organisation. Border Collie Rescue traces its beginnings back to 1997, when 63 Border Collies that did not make the SAPS grade were sold off from Roodeplaat. Nearly 30 years later, they are still stepping in for dogs that have nowhere else to go.
After everything surrounding Sky recently, this message from Julie and the team hit particularly close to home. We cannot speak about the welfare of working dogs, rescue dogs and animals that depend entirely on people, and then look away when an organisation doing the hard work needs help.
So I’m asking for a favour.
If you are able to donate, please do. If you can’t, please share this appeal. Sometimes simply getting it in front of the right person can make all the difference.
Every contribution and every share can help give these dogs a safe place to go.

Please help me get this out as widely as possible.
