Where do we even begin?
On Saturday from 13:00, you turned our very first Café Schatzi Night Market into something far bigger than we ever imagined. We hoped for a good crowd… instead, you came out in your hundreds, supported local businesses, shared laughs with friends, enjoyed great food and music, and reminded us just how incredible this community is.
From the bottom of our hearts – THANK YOU!
We also believe in being honest.
The response to our café caught us completely off guard. We planned for a busy evening, but what we experienced was an incredible 8 hours of continuous high demand.
Our kitchen and staff worked flat out from start to finish, but despite everyone’s best efforts, we know we couldn’t serve every customer as quickly as we wanted.
Some of you waited longer than you should have, some never got any and some items sold out sooner than expected.
For that, we sincerely apologise.
The good news? We’d much rather learn from success than from empty tables!
We’ve read your comments, listened to your suggestions and appreciated your constructive criticism. Whether it was about parking, seating, lighting, food service or adding even more stalls and activities, we heard you. Your feedback is already helping us plan an even better Night Market and a Boeremark on Saturday mornings….
Many people don’t realise that Café Schatzi has had to reinvent itself following the closure of Blackwoods. This Night Market wasn’t just another event—it was our way of creating new opportunities for our café, supporting local entrepreneurs, and building a space where our community could come together.
Because of YOU, that dream is becoming a reality.
To every visitor, vendor, musician, volunteer, staff member, family member and supporter—thank you for believing in us and for supporting local.
Now we need your help one more time.
If you have ideas, compliments or suggestions, we’d love to hear them. If there is anything we can improve—or if you had an experience that disappointed you—please don’t keep it to yourself.
