Hidden beneath the indigenous forest, Drupkelders is one of them.

A forest trail leads down towards the Homtini River, where enormous rock formations surround deep, clear pools — creating one of the most extraordinary natural swimming spots in the area.

This isn't your quick roadside stop.

It's a place for walking shoes, a sense of adventure and enough time to enjoy the journey as much as the destination.

🌊 Tiny. Rare. Found nowhere else quite like this.

Meet the Knysna Seahorse

Hidden beneath the calm waters of the Knysna Estuary lives one of our most extraordinary local residents—the Knysna Seahorse.

This remarkable little creature is the world's most endangered seahorse and is naturally found in only three estuaries in South Africa, with Knysna being its most famous home. Growing to just around 12 cm, it spends its days gently swaying amongst underwater plants, perfectly camouflaged from predators.

While they're not often seen by visitors, knowing they're there is a wonderful reminder that Knysna's beauty extends far beyond its forests and ocean views.

It's these hidden treasures that make our corner of the Garden Route so special.

Whether you're taking a leisurely stroll along the shoreline, watching whales during the winter months or simply sitting quietly while the waves roll in, Brenton has a way of making time stand still.

It's also home to one of South Africa's rarest butterflies—the Brenton Blue—a reminder of just how special this little corner of the Garden Route truly is.
