With so few upmarket entertainment options for families to connect in, there truly was a need for a relaxed, child-friendly environment with trustworthy care, safe play areas and genuinely pleasurable dining possibilities. And so Bambanani was born, and over the past four years has catered for families with kids of all ages, resulting in a concept eatery that has truly evolved into a boutique brand loved by all.

We are completely humbled 💛

Over 1,800 of you signed our petition and the love, messages and support have been incredible. Because of you all, Joburg Property Company has reached out and we are now in discussions to see what is possible.

With very heavy hearts, we will still be closing Bambanani Melville tomorrow, the 4th of May at 6pm 💔
Even with this momentum and everything you have all done, it does not resolve the business's immediate reality quickly enough.

What this response has shown us is how deeply this space is valued by the community. We are going to take some time to pause, reset and think carefully about how to bring Bambanani back in a way that works.

We’re working on something special: an upmarket evening dining concept for adults in the front part of our theatre space - designed to support Bambanani while we await our theatre’s zoning approval. We need time to get it right so we can come back stronger.

This is hopefully not the end, just a pause.
