Confused about where to host your son's birthday party? You may want to try out The Battlezone in Bryanston. I hosted a birthday party there end of last year and the boys REALLY had fun! It's R250 pp, you can book a slot which is 3hrs long (morning 10 - 1pm, afternoon 1pm - 4pm). You are allowed to bring your own food and snacks, but they do also have a Tuckshop which offers refreshments.

Hey guys! I know I went totally MIA🤭 I promise to do better this year and continue plug you to great spaces in Jozi.

I make my comeback by reviewing this pretty space in Bryanston. I went there some time last year and I see it's picked up traction and has gotten quite popular! As the name suggests, it's literally a white house with pretty aesthetics...gives you a feeling of being in Camps Bay or something. Only thing missing infront of the building is a beach😄!

The vibe and ambiance was great, the service however...not so much! The guy kept disappearing longer than he should. We had a light meal (rib and wings) which tasted good. One thing I noticed about the establishment is that the patrons were 90% ladies. So gents, this plug is especially for you, wink wink😉.

If you are looking for an upbeat vibe then this is your go to spot. (It does border on being noisy though I must say). The food is amazing, loved the seafood pasta I had there (I'm not even a seafood fan but I loved loved the dish!). My dates also thoroughly enjoyed their food. Great views of the lake and sculpture park! It seems to be quite popular for celebrations as there were 3 birthday parties being celebrated on the day we were there. The service was not too great, our waiter would dissappear and we would end up getting other waiters to assist. Overall, we had an enjoyable outing.

Food: 9/10
Service: 5/10 (the first time I went there 2yrs ago the service was much better)
Ambiance: 7/10

It's been birthday treat after treat for me over the past few weekends and a friend took me out for lunch to this hidden gem in Parktown North. Quirky, cute, quiant and full of character is how I can describe this one! You'll feel like you stepped out of Joburg into a hidden fiction like space. Intimate and small, ideal for a breakfast or lunch date with a friend. They offer vegan and gluten free options on their menu...they could however do with more meal options . Their service was great...friendly and warm. I had a beef burger which I enjoyed with some freshly squeezed juice. For dessert I had a Japanese mousse that I thoroughly enjoyed! I enjoyed how the restaurant is quiet and laid back.

It was my birthday just over a week ago and my friend took on lunch date out at this spot in Centurion. I have a few things I loved about this place:

• Service! Great, warm and welcoming service!
• It's fine dining but it does not break the bank! The prices are definitely not what you'd typically see in such establishments
• Space, lots of space. Zagora is quite spacious with different areas within the restaurant, a formal dining area, an outdoor more chilled area, an outdoor dining area and a cozy indoor lounge area. I love how you can choose the type of experience you'd like by choosing a specific sitting area.
• It was month end but it was not crowded or hectic...loved how it was a quiet space to be in.

I would recommend the establishment for a romantic date (first prize) or a lunch out with a friend/s. My friend rated her lamb chops and veggies 10/10. I had a curry which I must say was just ok, infact it tasted more like a dry stew🥴 that I struggled with chewing. One thing I wish they would add to the experience of the place is background music, I don't remember hearing any music at all. Overall we had an amazing time here!

Service: 10/10
Ambiance: 7/10 (if they add music in the background I'd give them a 9/10

I don't believe that it took me this long to explore this well-known restaurant! I mean I have BEEN hearing all things wonderful about it for years. A few weeks back I got to experience it for myself when I was invited to friend's dinner celebration at the establishment. It definitely lived up to the hype. Ambiance ✅ Service✅ ...Aesthetics ✅😍....Food✅😍😍...I loved everything about it. I also loved how they add extras to your experience with things like having a hair curler in their bathroom and as you step out of the bathroom there is a staff member outside who offers you various perfumes in case you want to refresh. My favorite thing about Kream has got to be the food...it was DIVINE! We were invited as guests therefore I'm not sure of pricing, but I had smoked pork belly🤤...you'd need to taste it to understand 🔥!

Great and fresh concept! The Food Box comprises of a few fast food restaurants and a bar. It’s a very casual setup…if you want to imagine the vibe it offers think food court in a shopping mall, just prettier and more aesthetically pleasing. I only had a waffle from Ms Waffles(best one I’ve had ever)…it also offers cuisine from Japan, Mexico and other choices like burgers. The environment is bustling and upbeat…the space is clean and the decor is appealing. The service was quite slow but the staff friendly. It is a nice 1 stop centre if your family would like different food options at a single space.

I love love discovering green spaces within a very built up Johannesburg!🌳🍃I went to this park on a weekday and it was a perfect afternoon outing for 2…well maintained, quiet, a pretty dam to chill next to and just an all round great place to enjoy nature. They also have a few swings for kids..so it would be a lovely family picnic out..it has pretty sculptures to look at too. There are a few restaurants that face the park and there is a sign on the park premises saying that one can order from the restaurant and have it delivered at the park. The only issue I had is that the entry fee is R10 but it’s not cash, you swipe it…err who wants to swipe R10 though?😬 Anyways…do go out there to enjoy an afternoon with your lover or family😊. I’m not sure if it’s as peaceful on weekends as I went through on a Tuesday.
