New Special Release: Ethiopia Gesha Village Lot 133 💙🇪🇹

Gesha Village Coffee Estate is one of the most celebrated coffee producers in the world. With the goal of being the most environmentally conscious coffee farm in Ethiopia, Gesha Village has consistently produced competition quality coffees while looking after the land and local people.

“In the far western reaches of Ethiopia, mere kilometers from the South Sudanese border, lie the dense, wildly sprouting jungles of West Omo zone. It’s a place of stunning natural beauty, where from a high-extending plateau one can take in the expanse of the ancient, sprawling forest. This breathtaking landscape is home to Gesha Village Coffee Estate, the 471-hectare coffee farm we have built from the ground up over the last eleven years. This has been our labor of love, and we’re extremely proud to be producing coffees as awe-inspiring as our surroundings.”

Experimentation 🧪

In the never-ending pursuit of flavour excellence, we’re always experimenting and adjusting our mindset.
Luhle sourced these beautiful Better Vessels for competition a few months back (thanks for the hook up Scott Rao !), and we have been truly astounded by the results. Cleaner, brighter espressos that absolutely sing.

Luhle spoke to this in his Nationals set:
“Crema contains bitter compounds, CO2, coffee fines and oils. These elements combined hinder our ability to taste desirable sweet fruit flavours with clarity. In this way, drinking espresso with crema can be compared to looking through a dirty window. I can see the other side, but not clearly. Removing the crema allows us to clean that hazy window and experience our flavours clearly.”

It’s fun to play with coffee, we salute the innovators pushing specialty coffee onwards and upwards ❤️
