Meet the heart behind Tajoma Farm – Karen & Donovan Bruwer 🤍
Every special corner of Tajoma Farm tells a story, and at the heart of it all are Karen and Donovan Bruwer.
Karen is the visionary. She has an incredible eye for design, transforming ideas into beautiful spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and full of character. The Barn is a perfect example of her creativity—an eclectic blend of treasured antiques and modern touches, with each themed room thoughtfully curated. It’s a style that somehow shouldn’t work… yet it absolutely does. 🦚🌸
Donovan is the driving force behind bringing those visions to life. With an unmatched work ethic and practical expertise, he turns Karen’s ideas into reality while adding his own creative touch along the way. He’s also the craftsman behind the delicious pork products you’ll find in the Tajoma Farm Shoppè, carefully producing everything from flavour-packed sausages to premium cuts. It was Donovan’s idea to create the Rock’n Rooster Restaurant, a place where families can enjoy great food, relax together, and experience the warm hospitality that has become synonymous with Tajoma Farm. 🥓🍔
Many people don’t realise that the Bruwers are also the directors of KHDC – The Brand People, a business founded by Karen in 1994. Today, KHDC provides branding, printing, signage, and promotional solutions nationwide, with its production factory proudly based right here at Tajoma Farm under Donovan’s watchful eye.
After years of city life, Karen and Donovan embraced the opportunity to make Tajoma Farm their permanent home. Since then, they’ve poured their hearts into restoring, building, and continually improving the farm—creating the special destination so many families have come to love.
Their love for animals is woven into everything they do. With ten beloved dogs of their own and a farm filled with rescued animals, Tajoma Farm has become a true sanctuary where every rescued animal is given a second chance, a safe home, and plenty of love. 🐴🦆🐐🐕
