WE’RE HIRING: Social Media Manager – Hermanus 📍
One storyteller. Four venues. Endless content.
Do you love food, hospitality and the Whale Coast? Can you turn a perfect sunset, a fresh loaf or a full Thursday night into a post people stop scrolling for?
We’re looking for a creative, organised Social Media Manager to run the online presence of our Hermanus family of venues:
🧡 Dutchies – our beachfront restaurant on Grotto Beach since 1998
💙 Ficks – classic dining with a view
🥖 Daan’s Bakery – artisan bread, baked daily and sold at the market
💛 Only Specials – our social-enterprise lifestyle hub, where young people with intellectual challenges train in hospitality
What you’ll do
- Plan, create and post content for all four venues on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, keeping each brand’s own look and voice
- Photograph and film dishes, drinks, events, the team and behind-the-scenes moments
- Promote weekly events, seasonal specials and big days such as Indonesian Thursdays, Rijsttafel, Whale Festival etc.etc.
- Reply to comments, messages and reviews in a warm, timely way
- Keep a monthly content calendar and report on what’s working
- Work with venue managers and our team to gather stories and content
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years’ experience managing social media for a business (hospitality is a big plus)
- A strong eye for photography and short video, and confidence with Canva, CapCut or similar
- Excellent written English (Afrikaans and/or Dutch is a bonus)
- Organised and self-driven, able to juggle several brands at once
- Based in or near Hermanus, with your own transport
- A genuine warmth for people and community. You’ll be telling the
Only Specials story too, so care and respect matter
