Another gem on Tranquili-tea’s doorstep is the magnificent 70 acre Benvie garden laid out in about 1880 featuring trees and shrubs from throughout the world. The azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias and other colourful shrubs now in full spring colour. The garden boasts the highest population of the special Orange Thrush In the country so it is a must visit for birders (get there by 7 am at the latest.
The open gardens has been running from 2 September to 2 October so now is the time to get there.
Benvie is in the Karkloof 45 km from Tranquilitea on the good gravel road between Rietvlei and Howick

Just a gentle reminder of what is on the very doorstep of Greytown - country living has so much to offer. The equinox is behind us so the days are now longer than the nights so you have loads of time to have a slice of cake and cuppawhateva @ Tranquili-tea and soak in the day! I wonder where dem boides izz?

Happy spring day!. It’s an ideal weekend to get out and enjoy the new season. Join us on Saturday morning for the 8 o’clock Trail to soak in the outdoors and spoil yourself to a hearty breakfast to start the day.

We have a spring special breakfast buffet on Sunday morning at 9 am at R95 per person.
