A new month calls for a bountiful buffet!

Join us on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, for our Pensioners Lunch and enjoy a delicious harvest table filled with an assortment of breads, followed by a feast of hearty favourites.

On the menu:
- Savoury Rice
- Roasted Potatoes
- Green Bean Casserole
- Balsamic Glazed Vegetables
- Chicken Pot Pie with Chicken Velouté
- Sliced Roasted Beef Sirloin

And to end on a sweet note, we’ll be serving up a delicious, warm Chocolate Pudding!

Prawns on a Tuesday? We think you've earned it. 🍤

We're closing off October's Pensioner's Lunches on a high note:

To start, butter and garlic prawns on warm flatbread with a zesty lime dressing.

For mains, roasted honey and mustard chicken with baked potatoes and roasted vegetables.

And for something sweet, an individual fruit tartlet with minted lemon cream and berry compote.

It's the last one this month, so gather the group and make an outing of it.

WATCH - 🤢😂 You won’t believe what these guys were challenged to eat!

Melissa du Plooy from the George Herald popped in to see what happened when the Francois Ferreira Academy put the SWD Eagles to the test for World Chef Day.

From blindfolded food surprises to some seriously unusual challenges, there was plenty of laughter, teamwork and a few questionable bites!

Our Pensioner's Lunch is back on Tuesday, 20 October, and this week's menu is pure comfort from start to finish:

To start, a creamy mushroom bake with crisp, homemade melba toast.

For mains, a traditional cottage pie, golden on top, with glazed baby carrots and peas.

And to finish, a baklava-style cheesecake: honey, nuts and smooth cheesecake all in one.
