| This Father’s Day, gather around the table for a leisurely Sunday lunch at Wilde Vy Bistro, where generous flavours, thoughtful cooking and a warm countryside setting come together in celebration of Dad.

Expect dishes like slow roasted lamb rib roll with caponata and aubergine chutney, pan fried linefish with lemongrass pea velouté and mussels, herb arancini with tarragon mayo, and chocolate nemesis cake with berry sorbet to finish.

Each guest is welcomed with fresh from the oven ciabatta rolls, herb butter and a drink on arrival, while fathers will receive a special gift from the Wilde Vy team.

A drummer, percussionist, pianist, singer and composer from Gugulethu, Tefo’s sound moves effortlessly between jazz, groove, funk, jazz rock and Neo Soul, layered with storytelling that lingers long after the final note.

A MOMENT MARKED WITH SOUND

| The name of Signal Gun’s home - Hoogelegen - literally translates to high-situated guns, and the winery has one of the largest collections of restored cannons in the Western Cape. Beginning in the 1600s, the VOC installed more than 50 cannons on hills and mountains around the Cape to form a Signal Gun chain that could call the Burgher Militia to defend the Cape. This Signal Gun chain extended from the Signal Hill, Cape Town via Durbanville to Citrusdal in the North West, Worcester in the north and via Tygerberg to Suurbraak beyond Swellendam in the east.

One of Signal Gun's 300-year old cannons is located in the gardens of Wilde V y and is fired on the first Saturday of every month at 1pm. It makes for a bang of note!

To witness this special occasion, arrive at 12h30pm'ish so as to settle in and watch the cannoneer at work.

The Signal Gun cannon may also be fired for special celebratory occasions by prior appointment. Please enquire via [email protected] to arrange your special occasion.
