This Father's Day, spend some quality time with your family over a relaxed Sunday lunch at Cattle Baron Durbanville.

We've put together a special menu featuring a traditional Sunday roast with all the trimmings, a selection of grill favourites, and a delicious dessert to finish.

As an added Father's Day treat, the first 24 guests at our 11:30am seating who order a Stella Artois will have their beer glass professionally engraved on the spot to take home.

Children aged 12 and under are welcome to order from our children's menu or our regular à la carte menu.

Our Sunday Lunch Buffet starts at 12pm.

Our sous chef, Schalk, has been up since very early this morning, preparing roast meats, seasonal vegetables and baking Malva pudding. Just before noon, our fresh salads will be prepared so they arrive on the buffet crisp, colourful and full of flavour.

Gather the family, bring some friends, and join us for one of our favourite traditions of the week.

Our Sunday buffet starts long before our first guest arrives.

Today we're planning the menu, deciding which favourites will make an appearance, placing orders and preparing for another busy Sunday lunch.

On Sunday, the ovens will be on, sending out the delicious aromas of roasted meats, the kitchen will be buzzing, and by noon the buffet tables will be filled with hearty dishes, roasted vegetables and fresh salads. Later, guests can round off their meal with a dessert served at the table.

Sunday lunch is already underway behind the scenes 🍽️

The ovens are on, the lamb curry is simmering and the warm Malva pudding is being laced with a creamy butter sauce. The kitchen team has been hard at work all morning preparing today’s buffet.

From slow-roasted meats and comforting favourites, to a range of roast & steamed vegetables — Sundays at Cattle Baron Durbanville are all about relaxed afternoons and good food shared together.

And for guests joining us for the buffet, we’re also offering a starter portion of our Atlantic Blue calamari for R35 before the buffet begins.

After a week of cold, rainy weather, we’ve introduced a new Winter Warmer Lunch for our senior guests ❄️

Over the past few months, many of our regular guests told us they miss enjoying a proper plated lunch with vegetables during the week — something warm, comforting and affordable.

So from this week, we’ll be serving our new Winter Warmer Lunch from Monday to Friday, 12–4pm.

This week’s menu includes:
• Butternut soup with croutons
• Beef stroganoff with mash or rice, served with vegetables
• Optional malva pudding with tea or coffee

After a busy Mother’s Day weekend, Karen is still smiling ❤️

Karen has been part of the Cattle Baron family since 1993, and for many of our regular guests, she’s one of the familiar faces that has welcomed them through our doors for years.

She remembers names, favourite tables, how people like their steaks done — and always makes sure our guests feel at home.

Mother’s Day is one of those Sundays we really love at the restaurant 🌺

There’s just something special about seeing families gathered around the table for a long lunch together - moms, daughters, sons, grandparents, a bottle of wine being shared, everyone slowing down for a few hours.
