Durban Botanic Gardens Tea Kiosk

Durban Botanic Gardens Tea Kiosk If you have enjoyed any item from the kiosk you have supported someone in need. TB medication has to be taken with food.

All proceeds from the Kiosk go to providing food parcels for Tuberculosis patients when released from hospital. The Kiosk is open 7 days a week and is run by a Manager and Assistant Manager, six kitchen staff and a large group of volunteers from church groups around Durban.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us by purchasing our tasty treats and given donations at the kiosk. Our profits and all donations are used to purchase food for Tuberculosis patients who have no income and need to eat when taking their daily medication. Your support makes a difference.

Archibishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu says the number of TB-related deaths in South Africa unacceptable, adding that the fight against TB should be "our next liberation struggle".

A happy morning at the Botanic Gardens Tea Kiosk with my friends from Trinity Methodist Church La Lucia. Lots of yummie things served there! In wonderful surroundings. Proceeds go towards food parcels for destitute TB suffers. Proper nutrition whilst taking TB medication is so important. Take a look at the website www.natba.org.za

We have just installed a new Point Of Sales system to help speed up our service. The old system was a little behind the times and a lot slower and the new POS system has really helped improve efficiency and stock control. Thank you to Vishal from Sunshine Information Technologies cc who has given us the software, training and support for free.

From 1963 the kiosk has been supported by volunteers from church groups and various women’s organisations. It is becoming increasingly difficult to replace the volunteers who are retiring after years of service. If any of this groups fans know of any organisation that would be able to assist with volunteers, send us an email or contact us right here on our wall. Volunteers help out either morning or afternoon shifts.

A selection of tasty treats available daily.

What a perfect day to take the family for a walk through the beautiful botanic gardens and stop off at the kiosk for lunch or a light snack.

I bet spoiling yourself to a scrumptious scone with jam and cream or a crumpet with syrup or jam and cream or ice cream has never made you feel so good. All proceeds from the sales go towards such a great cause.
