His record of public of duty to South Africa - from his appointment as State Attorney of the Zuid-Afrikaanse state attorney in 1898 by President Paul Kruger - until his death in 1950 as Leader of the Opposition is unsurpassed - no other South African prime minister or president can lay claim to such a record. 🌲🌻🌲
