Help Yolanda out, she really lost everything in a fire on Saturday afternoon. She will appreciate any support.

Dear friend, neighbour, community

We are reaching out with heavy hearts to share Yolanda’s story:

Her home at 24591 Ikhostina Street, Bardale, Mfuleni, Cape Town, SA was tragically destroyed by a fire on Saturday, 22 February 2025.

Yolanda was at work during this time and sadly lost everything, and is now facing the overwhelming task of rebuilding her home. We are grateful that Lilo her 12 year old son was unharmed during the incident.

On behalf of the Mill & Press Café we are humbly asking for your support as she navigates this difficult time. Yolanda is our longest standing employee at The Mill & Press Café. She’s been with us since we opened 10 years ago. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in helping her and Lilo get back on their feet and provide a safe place for the two of them to call home.

11 years ago we under took an epic adventure in purchasing this old girl 2000km away and driving down from JHB to Cape Town and converted it into LOTUS FOOD TRUCK that we have today! We have done every event, corporate gig, festival and wedding around the cape and further a field. We still going and have bookings steaming in for summer season. We offer an array of delicious Asian tapas, canapes, main meals and desserts!
