Chef patron Julia Hattingh introduces Reverie Social Table: a proudly South African table d’hôte style eatery located in the quirky neighbourhood of Observatory in Cape Town with a focus on social dining. Each evening, Chef Hattingh welcomes guests to sit around her bespoke 18-seater table to enjoy a five-course meal exclusively created for them, and accompanied by carefully selected w**es. Guests are encouraged to put away their cell phones and engage with one another. Perfect for those who love food, w**e and great company.

Good news! Reverie’s booking calendar is opened all the way from now until the end of March! 🥂

Since we limit the seats for each meal to have an intimate dinner party feel, we do book up in the season. So make sure you can snag those seats around our Social Table & ensure you get to dine with us in high season!

Christmas and New Year’s Eve dates are also available if you’re looking to join us for some festive fun.

Spring is arriving at Reverie Social Table with McFarlane w**es. 🌿

Starting this week, we’ll be bringing 18 guests together around one table for five courses, paired with 6 w**es from McFarlane W**es, whose approach is rooted in freshness, purity of fruit, and a deep respect for the vineyards and growers behind each bottle.

From old vines and diverse Western Cape sites to whole-bunch fermentation and time spent maturing on lees, each w**e proudly represents where it comes from and the thoughtfulness behind each bottle.

This Sunday, we continue our Women’s Month Sunday Lunch Series with a special afternoon celebrating women in food and w**e.

Julia Hattingh and chef Amori Burger will be serving a seasonal three-course menu featuring dishes from both Reverie Social Table and Upper Union, alongside a generous w**e pairing poured by Sheree Nothnagel of RAAR and Kasteelberg W**es. It’s a great chance to hear the stories behind the w**es while sharing a long lunch around the table.

A little late posting this because we’ve been busy around the Reverie Social Table lately, but we’re incredibly honoured to have won a 2026 LUXE Award.

A huge thank you to .awards for the recognition, to our amazing Reverie team who make these evenings possible, and to all of our guests who continue to join us around the table year after year. We’re really grateful for the support and excited for what’s ahead. 💛
