MAReSOL RESTAURANT

Authentic Portuguese food with a touch of Mozambican flair

MAReSOL, is a sociable yet stylish 200-seater Portuguese restaurant located at the Pierhead, in the V&A Waterfront. Boasting magnificent waterfront harbour and Table Mountain views, ensuring that no matter where you’re seated, you’ll always enjoy your view at MAReSOL.

The Menu

The restaurant is home to a varied combination of Portuguese and Mozambican flavours. There is no shortage of much-loved Portuguese favourites to be enjoyed with a glass of vinho tinto (red wine). Sharing is encouraged, and guests can choose from a variety of starters to share, or create their own platters for the table. Starters include the likes of peri-peri chicken livers, prawn risolles, calamari and Chouriço, a spicy Portuguese sausage flambéed in brandy. Main course options include old favourites like Peri-Peri Baby Chicken, Trinchado, Espetada and a traditionally Portuguese seafood dish, the Cataplana. Emphasis is placed on seafood due to MAReSOL’s on-the-water location, especially our shellfish offering of queen, king and tiger giant prawns.

Main course pricing range between R69 and R975 for a MAReSOL seafood platter (2 Tiger giants & 2 King prawns, 2 langoustines, calamari tubes, 8 mussels & catch of the day). Desserts feature authentic Portuguese delicacies like pastéis de nata, almond tart and our delightful rice pudding.

Weddings & Functions

Expect a warm, romantic ambiance and superb cuisine for your dream wedding reception at MAReSOL Restaurant in the V&A Waterfront. Whether you need an intimate venue or a unique experience to wow to your guests, we can accommodate for a guest list of up to 60 with a dance floor and 90 guests without a dance floor.
